How we met:
We met through a mutual friend in 2003. Over the years we would see each other at parties or group trips to Tahoe, camping or rafting. We started dating in 2006. Our first date was to a Mazda Event in Alameda.
About Us:
We are alike in many ways, but some of our interests are as different as the two coasts we are from. We share a interest in outdoor activities, motor sports and vintage cars - we enjoy working on his '65 Bug together.
Anthony is an amazing artist who has helped Lauren to see the world through a new lens. He is creative, innovative and loves to document the world around him. Anthony loves outdoor/fitness activities - especially mountain biking and motor sports. Anthony's greatest qualities are his loyalty to friends, kindness to everyone he encounters & tenacious approach to life.
Lauren is the most thoughtful, caring and beautiful person Anthony's known. Her radiance and glow effect friends and non-friends alike. Those who do not know Lauren are intrigued by her mysteriousness and positively effected by her caring nature. Lauren enjoys longs walks on the beach, biking, outdoor activities, knitting & sewing - her hobbies reflect the creativity she has within her.
Our Engagement:
Let me set the scene - It's Christmas morning and we've finished opening all our gifts. Lauren likes to put on all the clothes and jewelry that she receives; so she is wearing green sweatpants, a running jacket with a zig-zag poncho on over it, a couple costume jewelry necklaces, and chunky bracelets - totally mismatched like an outfit from the 80's. We're relaxing, sipping our tea and hoping to win some money on our scratchers. Lauren is very distracted and does not notice that there is another wrapped box in front of her. Anthony tells her that there is "one more". He gets on one knee and "pops the question" - and Lauren's first answer is "Seriously!" He asks again, and Lauren finally says "YES!!"
